The story
Nilo lives alone in a silent house on top of a hill. He has decided he will never love anyone: love, he thinks, only brings pain.
But one day, a small, unexpected encounter with a little bird fallen from its nest forces him to face what he has always feared.
From that moment, step by step, Nilo discovers that love is not a trap to avoid, but a force that fills life with meaning. Even if it sometimes hurts, love gives you wings to fly, brings freedom and makes life richer than any sheltered loneliness.
The book
Storia di Nilo, che non voleva amare (“The story of Nilo, who did not want to love”) is a gentle and profound picture book, written in Italian, for children and parents to read together. It is a fable about the courage to open up to others, the fear of getting hurt and the discovery that true happiness comes only to those who choose to love for real.
